FORMACIÓN ACADÉMICA DE ALGUNOS LIDERES DE GRUPOS MUSULMANES//ACADEMIC TRAINING OF SOME LEADERS OF MUSLIM GROUPS

 

            A veces me pregunto, qué revés de la vida, puede hacer que  una persona con formación universitaria, buena posición , con futuro envidiable, para terminar, enrolándose en un grupo guerrillero e incluso cometiendo abominables crímenes.

Sobre todo, teniendo en cuenta que muchos de ellos, terminan sus vidas de forma violenta y no de muerte natural.

En las últimas décadas, son muchos los casos que se dieron con este perfil. Sin entrar en valoraciones biográficas, pongo unos ejemplos de ello, citando solo aquellos que más repercusión mediática tuvieron:

Abu Bakr al-Bagdadi, Nto: Somarra (Iraq) el 28-07-1971, Fto: Barisha 26-12-2019. Estudió Química, pero se doctoró en estudios islámicos por la Universidad de Bagdad, terminó liderando el ISIS (Estado Islámico para Iraq y Siria).

Amwar al Aulaki, Nto: Las Cruces – Nuevo México (USA) el 22-04-1971 Fto: Yauf Sana (Yemen) el 30-09-2011. Estudió ingeniería en la Universidad de Colorado (USA) e hizo cursos de postgrado en distintas universidades americanas. Terminó liderando Al-Qaeda en el Yemen.

Shaker Al Absi, Nto: Jericó Palestina, 1955, Fto: Se supone en Jamana Siria el 10-12-2008. Estudió medicina en el Cairo, Se hizo piloto de cazas MIG en Libia, terminó liderando grupos como Fatah al islam y Jund al Saah en el Líbano.

Imad Mugnniyh, Nto: Tayr Dibba (Libano) el 7-12-1962, Fto: Kafr Sousa el 12-02-2008. Estudió Ingeniería en la Universidad Americana de Beirut. Terminó formando parte de la Fuerza 17 de Yaser Arafat y liderando el Aparato Militar de Hezbollah.

Eduardo Roczas Flores, Nto: Sta. Cruz de la Sierra Bolivia 31-03- 1960, Fto: en Bogotá el 16-04-2009. Estudio en las Academias Militares de Hungría y Moscú, hizo Literatura Lingüística en la Universidad de Eötros Loranz de Budapest, corresponsal de guerra en los Balcanes, terminó cambiando la pluma por un fusil.

Ayman Mohamed Alzawahiri, Nto: El Cairo el 9-06-1951 Fto: ¡! Estudió Medicina en la Universidad del Cairo, ejerció como cirujano, hizo estudios con muy buenas calificaciones. Terminó en la Yihad Islámica Egipcia y a la muerte de Ben Laden terminó liderando Al Qaida.

Osama Ben Laden, Nto: Riad (Arabia Saudi) el 10-03-1957 Fto:  en Abbottabad (Pâkistan) 02-05-2011.  Estudió Administración de Empresa e Ingeniería en la Universidad Rey Abdul, terminó liderando Al Qaida.

Mohamed Emwazi, Nto: Kuwait 1988 Fto: ¡! Estudió Ingeniería informática en Reino Unido, trabajando en cosas vinculadas con su carrera, terminó enrolándose en el ISIS.

Omar Sheij, Nto: Londres 23-12-1973 Fto:¡!   Estudio entre otros sitios en el prestigioso y elitista Forest School y en el London School of Economics, con altísimas calificaciones. Tras pasar por los Balcanes, terminó enrolándose en el grupo pakistaní Jaish e-Mohammes el más activo y violento de Pakistán, donde alcanzó un grado alto de liderazgo.

Hay muchos más casos, pero sería redundar en la misma pregunta: ¿Por qué este cambio tan radical, que le lleva a salir de una zona de confort y terminar envueltos en una siniestra violencia? La misma pregunta que me hice cuando la  bonita croata Irena Horak, universitaria, velocista con muy buena marca en 100 metros lisos preseleccionada para unos juegos olímpicos, de familia croata,  dejaba todo, para irse al Yemen,  esconder en un velo su hermosa melena rubia y convertirse en la tercera esposa de al-Aulaki. Es verdad que la guerra de los Balcanes en la década de los 90, envolvió de estupor y rabia a mucha gente y no fueron pocos  los que se fueron a luchar en una de las más cruentas guerras en Europa después de la segunda guerra mundial. Europa que actualmente vuelve a desangrarse con el conflicto de Ucrania.

        Sometimes I wonder what setback in life can make a person with a university education,     a good position, with an enviable future, end up enrolling in a guerrilla group and even committing abominable crimes.

Especially considering that many of them end their lives violently and not by natural death.

In recent decades, there have been many cases with this profile. Without going into biographical assessments, I give some examples of this, citing only those that had the most media impact:

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, Nto: Somarra (Iraq) on 28-07-1971, Phone: Barisha 26-12-2019. He studied chemistry, but received a doctorate in Islamic studies from the University of Baghdad, he ended up leading ISIS (Islamic State for Iraq and Syria).

Amwar al Aulaki, Nto: Las Cruces – New Mexico (USA) on 22-04-1971 Phone: Yauf Sana (Yemen) on 30-09-2011. He studied engineering at the University of Cororado (USA) and took postgraduate courses at different American universities. He ended up leading Al-Qaeda in Yemen.

Shaker Al Absi, Nto: Jericho Palestine, 1955, Info: Supposed to be in Jamana Syria on 10-12-2008. He studied medicine in Cairo, became a pilot of MIG fighters in Libya, ended up leading groups such as Fatah al Islam and Jund al Saah in Lebanon.

Imad Mugnniyh, Nto: Tayr Dibba (Lebanon) on 7-12-1962, Phone: Kafr Sousa on 12-02-2008. He studied engineering at the American University of Beirut. He ended up being part of Yasser Arafat's Force 17 and leading the Hezbollah Military Apparatus.

He studied at the Military Academies of Hungary and Moscow, studied Language Literature at the University of Eötros Loranz in Budapest, was a war correspondent in the Balkans, and ended up exchanging his pen for a rifle.

Osama Bin Laden, Nto: Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) on 10-03-1957 Phone: in Abbottabad (Pâkistan) 02-05-2011.  He studied Business Administration and Engineering at King Abdul University, ending up leading Al Qaeda.

Mohamed Emwazi, Nto: Kuwait 1988 Fto: ! He studied computer engineering in the United Kingdom, working on things related to his career, he ended up enrolling in ISIS.

Omar Sheikh, Nto: London 23-12-1973 Fto:!      Studying among other places at the prestigious and elitist Forest School, with very high grades, he ended up enrolling in the Pakistani group Jaish e-Mohammes, the most active and vilous in Pakistan,

where he achieved a high degree of leadership.

There are many more cases, but it would be to redound to the same question: Why such a radical change, which leads them to leave a comfort zone and end up involved in sinister violence?

The same question I asked myself when the beautiful Croatian blonde Irena Horak, a university student, sprinter with a very good mark in 100 meters, from a Croatian family, left everything to go to Yemen, hide her beautiful blonde hair in a veil and become al-Aulaki's third spouse. It is true that the war in the Balkans in the 90s enveloped many people in shock and rage and there were many who went to fight in one of the bloodiest wars in Europe after the Second World War, which is currently bleeding again with the conflict in Ukraine.
