25 DE MAYO DIA DE LAS FUERZAS ARMADAS ESPAÑOLAS (DIFAS)//SPANISH ARMED FORCES DAY
En este día tan especial para las Fuerzas Armadas Españolas, que este año el desfile conmemorativo, presidido por SS MM don Felipe y doña Letizia, se llevó a cabo en la ciudad de Oviedo, alcanzó un cierto protagonismo la Brigada de Infantería Ligera “Galicia VII” BRILAT. Con su color gris en boina y hombreras, como fiel reflejo del cielo en muchos días del año.
En cierta medida era un
protagonismo lógico y obligado, ya que, al ser celebrado en Asturias. Principado
en el que, en la localidad de Pola de Siero, está ubicado el Regimiento Príncipe
3, Segundo Regimiento de esta Gran Unidad.
El mando del desfile recayó en el
General jefe de la BRILAT, Alfonso Pardo de Santayana Galvis, que en su día
también mandó el Regimiento Príncipe 3, y el desfile de las Fuerzas a Pie, lo
encabezó el actual coronel Jesús Manuel Martínez Victoria, que forjó gran parte
de su vida militar (de teniente a comandante) en la Brigada Paracaidista.
La proximidad del pico del Naranco
imposibilito llevar a cabo el desfile aéreo, que solo estuvo representado por
la Patrulla “águila” y el hércules más longevo del Ejército del Aire español apodado “El
viejo rockero” del que se lanzaron los dos paracaidistas de la patrulla
acrobática del Ejército del Aire y del Espacio, uno de ellos portando la
gigantesca bandera de 15 kilos.
En el desfile mecanizado, no faltaron a la fiesta ni los carros Centauro, Pizarro ni Leopard 2E, tampoco los Misiles Patriot y Mistral, así como vehículos anfibios y los que tiene en dotación la Unidad más famosa entre la población civil, la UME, por estar presentes en todos los escenarios como terremotos, incendios o avalanchas de nieve.
Sin que faltasen representación
de las otras Brigadas de referencia: Paracaidista, Legión, Montaña y Regulares.
Algo más de cuatro mil hombres y
mujeres que llenaron de colorido la capital del Principado, para satisfacción del
público presente y deleite de los que los siguieron a través de las imágenes de
televisión.

On this special day for the Spanish Armed Forces, which this year the commemorative parade, presided over by Their Majesties Don Felipe and Doña Letizia, took place in the city of Oviedo, the Light Infantry Brigade "Galicia VII" BRILAT reached a certain prominence. In
the mechanized parade, neither the Centauro, Pizarro nor Leopard 2E tanks, nor
the Patriot and Mistral Missiles were missing from the party, as well as
amphibious vehicles and those provided by the most famous Unit among the
civilian population, the UME, for being present in all scenarios such as
earthquakes, fires or snow avalanches.
There
was no lack of representation from the other reference Brigades: Paratrooper,
Legion, Mountain and Regulars.
A
little more than four thousand men and women filled the capital of the
Principality with colour, to the satisfaction of the public present and the
delight of those who followed them through the television images.
