ACOGIMIENTO FAMILIAR: CINCO SON MUCHOS OCHO MULTITUD//FAMILY RECEPTION: FIVE IS A LOT EIGHT CROWD

 

Un padre de familia, con una renta relativamente holgada, tenía cinco hijos.  su casa contaba con siete habitaciones, una para el matrimonio, una para cada hijo y una sexta para una necesidad puntual, a parte tenía salón-comedor, cocina y baño.

Vivían en un edificio con diez viviendas en las que también residía   un matrimonio emigrante con ocho vástagos. Aunque tanto el padre como la madre trabajaban, no ganaban mucho, y contaban con lo justo para mal vivir. Llegó un momento en que la cosa empeoró, pues la madre perdió su trabajo.

Ante la situación, el presidente de la comunidad de vecinos propuso en una asamblea vecinal, (sin que los eludidos estuvieran presentes), acoger a los niños, para ayudar a mejorar la situación precaria de la pobre familia, para dar ejemplo, dijo que él mismo acogería a uno, (era el menor de apenas cuatro años), otro que solo tenía un hijo, acogió a dos más, los siguientes en edad, el tercer vecino, se negó a tomar ninguno, porque alegó que no disponía de muchos recursos para ello, el cuarto, acogió uno a regañadientes, porque aunque no tenía hijos, le gustaba mucho viajar con su mujer y eso le suponía una atadura.

Los siguientes en la pregunta, dijeron que no los iban a acoger, porque no tenían obligación, le llegó el turno al padre de los cinco hijos, propuso que si alguien acogía uno de los cuatro que quedaban el acogería a tres, uno de los que se había negado, decidió coger uno, así que fiel a la palabra dada, él acogió a los tres. Algunos pensaban que no era justo el reparto, pero así quedó la cosa y se fue a su casa. Al llegar hablo con los suyos y le explicó la decisión tomada, aunque no muy de acuerdo, acataron la decisión, pero entraban dos chicos y una chica, así que decidió, que la chica se instalaría en la habitación vacía y los dos hijos mas pequeños ocuparían una habitación, dejando una vacía para uno de los recién llegados, los otros dos siguientes, ocuparían otra, para dejar una al otro recién llegado que quedaba. Solo el hijo mayor, quedaría solo en su habitación.

De pronto se encontró con el espacio más reducido, con tres bocas más a dar de comer y que su sueldo no daba para tanto, pero, aunque lo propuso, los que no habían cogido a ninguno, dijeron que era su problema, que ellos no acogían a nadie. Como eran menores no podían trabajar, así que le dijo al hijo mayor que dejase de estudiar y se pusiese a trabajar, los acogidos se negaron a hacer cosas en la casa, porque decían que no lo sabían hacer y que eso era explotación de mano de obra infantil, que no iban a clase, porque no entendían nada de lo que enseñaban e igual talante mostraron los otros hermanos acogidos, se pasaban el día paseando por la calle y los fines de semana exigían su paga semanal.

Los que no acogían a nadie, les dijeron que la cosa no se había hecho bien, todo era más sencillo,si se buscase un buen trabajo a los padres y no llegar a este punto, ahora podrían ser acusados de rapto, explotación infantil y todas esas cosas. Los hijos de sangre terminaron viviendo peor, tenían menos ingresos y eran incluso mal vistos por los recién llegados.

Que cada cual ponga la moraleja que quiera, pero la historia es la que es.

A father of a family, with a relatively comfortable income, had five children.  Her house had seven rooms, one for the couple, one for each child and a sixth for a specific need, in addition to having a living-dining room, kitchen and bathroom.

 They lived in a building with ten flats in which an emigrant couple with eight children also resided. Although both the father and mother worked, they did not earn much, and they had just enough to live badly. There came a time when things got worse, because the mother lost her job.

 Faced with the situation, the president of the community of neighbors proposed in a neighborhood assembly, (without the eluded being present), to take in the children, to help improve the precarious situation of the poor family, to set an example, he said that he himself would take in one, (it was the youngest of just four years old), another who only had one child,  he took in two more, the next in age, the third neighbor, he refused to take any, because he claimed that he did not have many resources for it, the fourth, he took one reluctantly, because although he did not have children, he liked to travel with his wife very much and that meant a tie for him.

 The next in the question, said that they were not going to take them in, because they had no obligation, it was the turn of the father of the five children, he proposed that if someone took in one of the four that were left he would take in three, one of those who had refused, decided to take one, so true to the word given,  He took in all three. Some thought that the distribution was not fair, but that's how it was and he went home. When he arrived he spoke with his family and explained the decision made, although they did not agree very much, they complied with the decision, but two boys and a girl entered, so he decided that the girl would settle in the empty room and the two youngest children would occupy a room, leaving an empty one for one of the newcomers,  the other two would occupy another, to leave one to the other newcomer who remained. Only the eldest son would be left alone in his room.

 Suddenly he found himself with the smallest space, with three more mouths to feed and that his salary was not enough for that much, but, although he proposed it, those who had not taken any, said that it was his problem, that they did not take anyone. As they were minors they could not work, so he told the eldest son to stop studying and start working, the foster children refused to do things at home, because they said that they did not know how to do it and that this was exploitation of child labor, that they did not go to class, because they did not understand anything of what they taught and the other foster siblings showed the same disposition,  they spent the day walking down the street and on weekends they demanded their weekly pay.

 Those who did not take in anyone, told them that things had not been done well, everything was simpler, if they looked for a good job for the parents and did not reach this point, they could now be accused of kidnapping, child exploitation and all those things. The children of blood ended up living worse, had less income and were even frowned upon by the newcomers.

 Let everyone put the moral they want, but the story is what it is.
