EFEMERIDES: 50 AÑOS DE LA CREACIÓN DE LA ACADEMIA GENERAL BASICA DE SUBOFICIALES.
Cuando J.R., terminó su bachiller, tenía tres opciones, pedir una prorroga para realizar su Servicio Militar Obligatorio, esperar un año a ser llamado a filas o bien
Así que el 18 de abril de 1973,
ingresaba como voluntario del Regimiento Mixto de Artillería núm. 3 en el Campamento
de Reclutas num 13 de Figueirido, para realizar el primer periodo de Instrucción
Básica, previa al solemne acto de juramento de fidelidad a la bandera, que realizaría
el 24 de junio de ese año. Festividad del apóstol San Juan, unos días después,
se incorpora al Regimiento, donde es seleccionado para realizar el curso de
cabo, empleo al que asciende el 1 de septiembre del mismo año. Un mes después es convocado al curso de cabo
Primero, pudiendo lucir los galones de este empleo el 26 de diciembre de 1973.
Ya bien avanzado el Servicio
Militar, se crea la Academia General Básica de Suboficiales, con sede en el
Campamento General Martín Alonso en Talarn, (Lérida), con tal motivo el 1 de
octubre se presenta en lo que hasta ese momento era la Escuela de Aplicación y
Tiro de Artillería, para realizar las pruebas físicas y escritas de ingreso, superándolas.
Por lo que J.R. es declarado Caballero Alumno de la citada Academia. Presentándose
en la misma el 1 de noviembre de 1974.
Un largo viaje en tren de una
punta a otra de España, para llegar a la estación de Lérida. Al llegar pudo constatar, que aunque en el letrero de la estación ferroviaria figuraba Lérida, los lugareños la conocían como Lleida, donde haciendo transbordo
a otro tren que le conduciría a la población de Tremp, distante unos 80
kilómetros, al salir de la estación, tomó un taxi, que le transportó a Talarn,
al llegar a la entrada se fijó en dos columnas flanqueadas a derecha e
izquierda. A la izquierda un mural en piedra, representando unos soldados en
trabajos de fortificación, a la derecha un monolito en piedra, con dos
inscripciones arriba: “Todo por la Patria” debajo “Campamento General Martín Alonso”.
Los recién llegados, fueron colocándose en grupos en una explanada, para ser
identificados y darles las directrices de donde tendrían que ubicarse, en
función del arma o cuerpo y el número de oposición alcanzado.
Mientras esperaban las instrucciones,
vieron en la ladera de la montaña de enfrente tres palabras escritas en grandes
letras blancas: Franco, Franco, Franco y el escudo del Ejército de Tierra (A la
muerte del Jefe del Estado, se colocó en su lugar: El escudo y las siglas de la
AGBS y la Frase: “A España Servir hasta Morir”).
En los juveniles rostros de los caballeros alumnos, se entrevía una mezcla de la incertidumbre de lo que se esperaba de ellos y a la vez una ilusión, por ser parte
El camino se hizo largo, todo era
nuevo, tanto para los profesores como para los alumnos, pero el objetivo para
J.R. y la mayoría de sus compañeros fue alcanzado. Hoy 50 años después de aquel
ingreso, se puede ver retrospectivamente la satisfacción del deber cumplido,
con el recuerdo puesto, en aquellos compañeros que estan contemplando desde el cielo esta
efemérides singular.

When J.R. finished his high school, he had three options, ask for an extension to perform his Compulsory Military Service, wait a year to be called up or anticipate the move and enter as a volunteer. He opted for the third, because in this way, he was sure not to go far from home.
So on April 18, 1973, he entered as a volunteer
of the Mixed Artillery Regiment No. 3 in the Recruit Camp No. 13 of Figueirido,
to carry out the first period of Basic Instruction, prior to the solemn act of
oath of allegiance to the flag, which he would perform on June 24 of that year.
On the feast of the apostle San Juan, a few days later, he joined the Regiment,
where he was selected to take the corporal course, a job to which he was
promoted on September 1 of the same year.
A month later he was summoned to the First Corporal course, being able
to wear the stripes of this job on December 26, 1973.
Well advanced in the Military Service, the
Basic General Academy of Non-Commissioned Officers was created, based in the
General Martin Alonso Camp in Talarn, (Lleida), for this reason on October 1 it
was presented in what until then was the School of Application and Artillery
Shooting, to carry out the physical and written entrance tests. overcoming them. For which J.R. is declared a
Knight Student of the aforementioned Academy. He appeared at the same on
November 1, 1974.
A long train journey from one end of Spain to
the other, to reach the station of Lleida, changing to another train that would
take him to the town of Tremp, about 80 kilometers away, when leaving the
station, he took a taxi, which transported him to Talarn, when he arrived at
the entrance he noticed two columns flanked to the right and left. On the left
a stone mural, representing soldiers in fortification work, on the right a
stone monolith, with two inscriptions above: "All for the Homeland"
below "General Martín Alonso Camp". The newcomers were placed in
groups on an esplanade, to be identified and given the guidelines of where they
would have to be located, depending on the weapon or body and the number of
opposition reached.
While they were waiting for instructions, they
saw on the slope of the mountain in front of them three words written in large
white letters: Franco, Franco, Franco and the coat of arms of the Army (On the
death of the Head of State, it was placed in its place: The coat of arms and
the acronym of the AGBS and the phrase: "To Spain Serve until
Death").
In the youthful faces of the student knights,
there was a mixture of the uncertainty of what was expected of them and at the
same time an illusion, for being a living part of the recent history of the
Spanish Army. The coincidence of the moment made them different, they were part
of the First Promotion of a new training of non-commissioned officers, although
they would have to adapt to the hard training of three years. To reach the
long-awaited sergeant's stripes. Three years in which the bond between them would
be engraved on fire in their hearts, in addition to the pride of being the
first sergeants to receive the Royal Dispatch. What differentiated them in
international meetings, from the NCO, from other countries.
The road was long, everything was new, both for
the teachers and the students, but the goal for J.R. and most of his classmates
was achieved. Today, 50 years after that entry, one can retrospectively see the
satisfaction of the duty fulfilled, with the memory placed, in those colleagues
who are contemplating this singular event from heaven.
