El 13 de mayo, será el 108 aniversario de la Primera Aparición de Nuestra Señora a los pastorcillos de Fátima.
Ese domingo de 1917, tras cumplir el precepto dominical, Lúcia, Francisco y Jacinta condujeron el rebaño de ovejas familiar, a una finca que los padres de
Mientras los dóciles animales comían
a sus anchas, los chiquillos se entretenían jugando a hacer un muro de piedras alrededor
de una de las encinas de aquel paraje.
En un momento dado, los niños
vieron como si fuese el resplandor de un relámpago. Temiendo que se desatase
una tormenta, que en esta época del año suelen ser fuertes, se dispusieron a regresar
a sus casas. Cuando llevaban recorrido un trecho de la finca, notaron como si
en dirección a una de las encinas se producía un nuevo resplandor de relámpago.
Al alzar la vista observaron con sorpresa, que sobre ella se encontraba una
Mujer totalmente vestida de blanco, irradiando una luz tan brillante como el
sol, cuyos rayos parecían atravesarla.
Se produce entonces un dialogo entre la Señora y Lúcia, dialogo que Jacinta podía oír, mientras que Francisco no, él solo interpretaba por lo que hablaba su prima y por lo que le repetía Jacinta aunque si veía a Nuestra Señora.
Senhora: No temais. No voy a haceros ningún
daño.
Lúcia: ¿Qué es, lo que Vuestra
Merced desea de nosotros?
Señora: Vengo para pediros que vengáis
aquí, seis meses seguidos en el día 13 de mes y a esta misma hora. Después os
diré quien soy y que es lo que quiero.
Lúcia: ¿Nosotros también iremos
al cielo?
Señora: Si iréis, pero tenéis que
rezar muchos rosarios
Lúcia preguntó si dos muchachas
que conocía y que habían muerto hacia poco tiempo estaban ya en el cielo. (En
sus memorias no estaba segura de sus nombres, pero una creía ser María de las Nieves,
y la otra Amelia, de 16 y 18 años respectivamente, hay que pensar que las
memorias las escribió muchos años después).
Señora: La primera esta ya en el
cielo, la segunda debe pasar un tiempo en el purgatorio. Y vosotros ¿estáis
dispuestos a soportar los sufrimientos que el Señor quiera enviaros, en reparación
de los pecados con que es ofendido y por la conversión de los pecadores?
Lúcia: Lo estamos.
Señora: Tendréis que sufrir, pero
contareis con la gracia de Dios para soportarlo y como consuelo.
La Señora abrió sus manos
irradiando una luz que se proyectó sobre los niños y que sintiendo un impulso
interno exclamaron:
-“Oh, Santísima Trinidad, Os adoro
mi Dios, mi Dios en el Santísimo Sacramento”
Señora: Rezad el rosario todos
los días por la paz del mundo y por el fin de la guerra (en aquellos momentos,
se estaba produciendo la Primera Guerra Mundial)
Dichas estas palabras, la Señora
comenzó a elevarse hacía el cielo, desapareciendo en lo alto de su vista.
Mientras esto ocurría. Al igual
que ahora, los cardenales estaban reunidos en conclave para elegir papa, y ese
mismo día 13 de ese año 1917, designaban a Eugenio Pacelli como papa Pio XII.
Papa que, siempre se sintió atraído por el Mensaje de Fátima.

May 13 will be the 108th anniversary of Our Lady's First Apparition to the shepherd children of Fatima.

At one point, the children watched as if it
were the glow of lightning. Fearing that a storm would break out, which at this
time of year is usually strong, they prepared to return to their homes. When
they had walked a stretch of the farm, they noticed as if in the direction of
one of the oaks there was a new flash of lightning. When they looked up, they
observed with surprise that above her was a Woman totally dressed in white,
radiating a light as bright as the sun, whose rays seemed to pass through her.
A dialogue then took place between the Lady and
Lucia, a dialogue that Jacinta could hear, while Francisco could not, he only
interpreted what his cousin spoke and what Jacinta repeated to him.
Senhora: Do not be afraid. I'm not going to
hurt you.
Lúcia: What is it, what does Your Worship want
from us?
Madam: I have come to ask you to come here, six
months in a row on the 13th of the month and at this same time. Then I will
tell you who I am and what I want.
Lúcia: Will we also go to heaven?
Madam: Yes, you will go, but you have to pray
many rosaries
Lucia asked if two girls she knew who had
recently died were already in heaven. (In her memoirs she was not sure of their
names, but one believed herself to be María de las Nieves, and the other
Amelia, 16 and 18 years old respectively, you have to think that the memoirs
were written many years later.
Madam: The first is already in heaven, the
second must spend some time in purgatory. And are you willing to endure the
sufferings that the Lord will send you, in reparation for the sins with which
he is offended and for the conversion of sinners?
Lucia: We are.
Madam: You will have to suffer, but you will
count on God's grace to endure it and as a consolation.
The Lady opened her hands radiating a light
that was projected on the children and that feeling an inner impulse they
exclaimed:
"O Most Holy Trinity, I adore You my God,
my God in the Blessed Sacrament."
Madam: Pray the rosary every day for the peace
of the world and for the end of the war (at that time, the First World War was
taking place)
With these words, the Lady began to rise
towards the sky, disappearing from the top of her sight.
While this was happening. As now, the cardinals
were gathered in conclave to elect pope, and on that same day, the 13th of that
year, 1917, they designated Eugenio Pacelli as Pope Pius XII. Pope who was
always attracted by the Message of Fatima.
