CENTENARIO DE LA APARICION DE NUESTRA SEÑORA A SOR LUCIA//CENTENARY OF THE APPARITION OF OUR LADY TO SISTER LUCIA

 

El día 10 de diciembre de 2025, se cumplirán los cien años, de la aparición en el Santuario del Inmaculado Corazón de María en Pontevedra, de la Virgen (advocación de la Madre del Rosario) a la religiosa Dorotea  Sor Lucía de Jesús y del Inmaculado Corazón, cuyo nombre verdadero de registro bautismal era Lúcia Rosa dos Santos, quien con sus primos Francisco y Jacinta, tuvieron en 1917, en la zona portuguesa de Aljustrel la visita de Nuestra Señora, durante seis meses seguidos, todos en el día 13 de mes, excepto la cuarta que fue el 19, en el lugar donde hoy se encuentra el Santuario de Fátima.

Aunque el 25 de octubre de 1925, ingresó en el convento de las HH Doroteas de Tui, al día siguiente 26, se vino para el de Pontevedra. El 10 de diciembre, se le apareció en su celda Nuestra Señora mostrando su corazón rodeado de espinas. La acompañaba el Niño Jesús, allí le piden la devoción de los cinco primeros sábados de mes, (conocida como la “Gran Promesa” y le dan las directrices de como se debe realizar: Mira hija mía, mi Corazón rodeado de espinas, que los hombres ingratos a todo momento me clavan con sus blasfemias e ingratitudes. Tú al menos, haz algo para consolarme y di, que a quienes, durante cinco meses consecutivos, en el primer sábado de cada uno de ellos, confiesen, reciban la Sagrada Comunión, recen el Rosario y me hagan 15 minutos de compañía meditando en los misterios del mismo, para desagraviarme, Yo prometo asistirles en la hora de su muerte, con todas las gracias necesarias para la salvación de sus almas.

El Vaticano concedió Año Jubilar desde el 10 de diciembre de este año, al 10 de

diciembre del próximo. Muchas son las peregrinaciones que ya se estan realizando a esta Santa Casa, en especial de Polonia (Por la relación del papa polaco Karoll Wojtyla (Juan Pablo II) con Fátima), de Portugal (Por las apariciones en  Aljustrel y la procedencia de Lúcia) y de los Estados Unidos (por las devociones a Fátima de su 35 presidente John Fitzgerald Kennedy, la visita a Coimbra del cineasta Mel Gibson, la composición de la canción “El Milagro del Rosario”, de Lee Denson y su posterior grabación e interpretación por el mítico Elvis Presley en su 17º Álbum.

En el patio del Santuario, hay una imagen del Niño Jesús realizado por las Hermanas Clarisas de Bordertown (USA), en memoria del presidente Kennedy, que nació el 29 de mayo de 1917, (mes y año de la primera aparición en Fátima)

El número de visitantes (algunos incluso no creyentes) a este lugar especial se incrementó considerablemente, desde el uno de enero de este año, son casi veinte mil personas las que se acercaron a la Casa, siendo muchos quienes, en el primer sábado de mes, se acercan a rezar el rosario y asistir a la Eucaristía.

.On December 10, 2025, it will be one hundred years since the apparition in the Sanctuary of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Pontevedra, of the Virgin (invocation of the Mother of the Rosary) to the nun Dorotea Sister Lucía de Jesús and of the Immaculate Heart, whose real

name of baptismal registration was Lúcia Rosa dos Santos,  who with her cousins Francisco and Jacinta, had in 1917, in the Portuguese area of Aljustrel, the visit of Our Lady, for six months in a row, all on the 13th of the month, except the fourth which was on the 19th, in the place where the Sanctuary of Fatima is located today.

Although on October 25, 1925, she entered the convent of the Sisters Doroteas de Tui, the next day 26, she came to the convent of Pontevedra. On December 10, Our Lady appeared to him in his cell, showing her heart surrounded by thorns. She was accompanied by the Child Jesus, there they asked her for the devotion of the first five Saturdays of the month, (known as the "Great Promise") and gave her the guidelines of how it should be carried out: Look, my daughter, my Heart surrounded by thorns, which ungrateful men at all times nail me with their blasphemies and ingratitude. You, at least, do something to console me and say, that to those who, for five consecutive months, on the first Saturday of each of them, confess, receive Holy Communion, pray the Rosary and keep me 15 minutes of company meditating on the mysteries of it, to make amends, I promise to assist them at the hour of their death,  with all the graces necessary for the salvation of their souls.

The Vatican granted a Jubilee Year from December 10 of this year, to December 10 of next year. Many pilgrimages are already being made to this Holy House, especially from Poland (because of the relationship of Polish Pope Karoll Wojtyla

(John Paul II) with Fatima), from Portugal (because of the apparitions in Aljustrel and the origin of Lucia) and from the United States (because of the devotions to Fatima of its 35th president John Fitzgerald Kennedy,  the visit to Coimbra by filmmaker Mel Gibson, the composition of the song "The Miracle of the Rosary", by Lee Denson and its subsequent recording and interpretation by the legendary Elvis Presley in his 17th Album.

In the courtyard of the Shrine, there is an image of the Child Jesus made by the Poor Clare Sisters of Bordertown (USA), in memory of President Kennedy, who was born on May 29, 1917, (month and year of the first apparition in Fatima)

 

The number of visitors (some even non-believers) to this special place increased considerably, since January 1 of this year, there are almost twenty thousand people who came to the House, many of whom come to pray the rosary and attend the Eucharist on the first Saturday of the month.
