Asociamos el Black Friday a las compras, pero a veces no nos paramos a pensar en cual es el origen de este día y el motivo o motivos que se dieron para recibir
En primer lugar, no se puede
disociar este día del Dia de Acción de Gracias, que se celebra como festivo el
cuarto jueves del mes de noviembre, no solo en Estados Unidos, sino en otros
muchos más países como Canada, Brasil …Para dar gracias a Dios por los
beneficios de las Cosechas. Una de las referencias históricas de la celebración
de este día, data del 8 de septiembre de 1565 en la que cita a colonos
españolas, que se reunieron en la colonia de San Agustín de Florida, para dar
gracias al Señor por las cosechas que habían obtenido ese año.
Posteriormente se marco como día
festivo el cuarto jueves de noviembre, declarándose al día siguiente día de las
primeras rebajas, para las compras de navidad.
En 1961, ocurrió un hecho singular en Filadelfia, se programó para el cuarto sabado del mes de noviembre, un partido de futbol, entre jugadores de la Navy
Sin embargo, casi siempre se asocia
el viernes negro, a algo negativo, como es el caso del viernes del 24 de septiembre
de 1869, cuando Lay Gould y Jim Fick dos avariciosos, economistas e inversores
que operaban en Wall Street, intentaron con ayuda de algunos políticos,
acaparar el mercado del oro, pero la operación no salió como pretendían y en un
margen corto de tiempo, el oro se devaluó, causando el caos y el desplome de
los inversores, con cientos de personas arruinadas, en lo que se conoció como
el Black Friday del Crack de Nueva York.
Hoy se popularizó el Black Friday
saltando a Europa y otras partes del mundo como reclamo publicitario para las compras
navideñas, al que recientemente se adosó el llamado Ciber Monday (en España
ciber lunes), dedicando al primer lunes siguiente para las rebajas en las
compras de internet.

However, Black Friday is almost always
associated with something negative, as is the case of the Friday of September
