ELVIS PRESLEY:
Elvis Aaron Presley nació en Tupelo
(Misisipi) el 8 de enero de 1935 y murió en Memphis, Tennessee el 16 de agosto
de 1977.
Sus comienzos musicales, no fueron
fáciles, era tímido y eso hizo confundir a muchos, que decían que no tenía
dotes como cantante, como su profesora de música de Menfis, que incluso lo suspendió,
siendo esta la única asignatura que llegó a suspender en toda su vida de
estudiante.
Su madre murió con 46 años de insuficiencia
cardíaca, mientras realizaba su servicio militar, algo que lo marcó
profundamente porque estaba unido a ella.
Durante su instancia como militar
en Alemania, se involucró en el movimiento evangélico cristiano.
El dinero que ganaba durante su
estancia en el ejercito lo donó a obras benéficas. Durante el periodo militar
aprendió karate, ese conocimiento le salvo la vida, una vez que fue atacado en
el escenario durante una actuación. Estando a punto de entrar en unidades de
operaciones especiales. Algo que le agradaba a su esposa a Priscilla Beaulieu, con
quien se casó en mayo de 1967, porque consideraba que podría alternarlo con la
música y ganarse el respeto de toda la gente por servir a su patria. El 1 febrero
de 1968, tuvo a su hija Lisa Marie. En unos momentos donde la calidad musical
había bajado considerablemente.
Durante el tiempo que tuvo como mánayer al coronel Parker, Elvis consiguió una buena estabilidad emocional y personal.
Llego a reponerse y volvió a adquirir de nuevo fama, siendo recibido en la Casa Blanca por el presidente Richard Nixon el 21 de diciembre de 1970.
Tras su divorcio en 1973, la salud
de Presley por dejadez se fue resquebrajando, así como su apariencia física,
Su aspecto físico se deterioró por el consumo de drogas, apenas
cabía dentro de su propia ropa e incluso llego a tener problemas de
comunicación en el escenario.
El 16 de agosto de 1977, día que
tenía programado un concierto, fue encontrado inconsciente, los médicos no
consiguieron reanimarlo y murió un ícono de la música no solo estadounidense
sino mundial. Lo más insólito fue que durante el sepelio un vehículo irrumpió contra la muchedumbre y causó la muerte a dos mujeres e hirió gravemente a una más.
Sus restos mortales, descansan
junto con los de su madre en el Jardín de la Graceland.
LEE DENSON:
Nació en Rienzi (Mississippi) el 25 de agosto de 1932 y
murió en Tennessee el 6 de noviembre de 2007. Fue autor de diversas canciones,
que grabaron cantantes como Billy Williams, Kuf Linx y Elvis Presley.
Durante el tiempo en que coincidieron
en Memphis, se hizo amigo de Elvis Presley, que era dos años más joven que él.
Pertenecía a la iglesia baptista, aunque mas tarde se casaría con Mary una
católica. Asistía asiduamente a la iglesia de Pentecostés con su padre.
Fue el principal animador de que Elvis tocase la guitarra, pues no era hasta ese momento muy amigo de tocarla.
Su carrera se desarrolló principalmente a raíz de su cambio
de residencia primero a Key West en Florida, pero sobre todo cuando lo hizo a
Nueva York, a raíz de firmar con la RCA Récords.
Aunque como Elvis era amante del
Rock, escribió la canción antes citada del “Milagro del Rosario” que, en
1972, la recogería Elvis en su 17 álbum, sobre un acontecimiento ocurrido con
el rosario de su esposa Mary.
Dos años después Denson se convertiría
al catolicismo, con la que se hizo un ferviente seguidor del Ejército Azul, del
Apostolado Mundial de Fátima. Realizando peregrinaciones a Portugal, donde
cantó esta canción, para las hermanas carmelitas donde estaba sor Lucía, siendo
bendecida esta por el papa Pablo VI.
En el 2002 la firma Hydra Récords,
recopiló las canciones de Lee Denson en el álbum The South´s Gonna Rise Again,
con 23 de ellas escritas casi todas por Lee.
Lee Denson murió en Tennessee, el 6 de noviembre de 2007 a
la edad de 75 años, a causa de un accidente aéreo.
CANCIÓN EL MILAGRO DEL ROSARIO:
Lee y Elvis se conocieron en
1948, cuando la familia Presley se mudo a Memphis, animado y dirigido por Lee,
comenzó a tomar las clases de guitarra mas en serio, junto con otros tres amigos
más.
Años después, sobre 1960 ya
casado Lee con una católica llamada Mary, muy devota de Fátima y que
diariamente rezaba el Rosario, usando uno que le habían traído de Fátima
(Portugal), hasta que con las continuas giras musicales de su esposo al que
acompañaba, el rosario desapareció y ella descuidó su rezo.
Una noche a la vuelta de un concierto,
cuando se encontraban acostados y ya dormidos ocurrió algo sorprendente, el
sintió como una campanilla y ella un roce de unos labios, encendieron la luz, y
encontraron sobre la almohada el rosario perdido. Eso en si no es el milagro,
el rosario lo había dejado allí una amiga de Mary, que le atendía la casa
cuando no estaba, el milagro ocurrió después a raíz de ese singular hecho.
A la mañana siguiente era el día 13
de octubre de 1960, coincidía con el 43 aniversario de la última aparición en Fátima
de Nuestra Señora a Lucía, Francisco y Jacinta. Acudieron a la misa en una
iglesia próxima, donde el oficiante habló de las efemérides de Fátima y los
favores que hace la Virgen, sin que se les preste mucha atención a sus
promesas. Cuando el músico en la ceremonia escuchó la canción del Avemaría, sintió
algo en su interior, que le llevó a escribir una canción con ese fondo para
Nuestra Señora.
En el año 1967, con motivo del 50
aniversario de las apariciones de Fátima, le pidió a su amigo Elvis, que
incluyese en sus grabaciones la del Milagro del Rosario, cosa que no hizo hasta
1971.
Lee Denson cantó esa canción en
1978 en la Basílica de Memphis, cuando oficiaba la misa el obispo panameño Tomás
Clavel y mientras la interpretaba, el propio obispo declaró que el aroma de
rosas invadió todo el interior del templo.
Llegado a oídos de Pablo VI, este
hecho extraordinario, bendijo la canción. Que Lee Denson cantaría tanto en el
Santuario de Fátima como en el Carmelo de Coimbra con presencia de la hermana
Lucía.

Elvis Aaron Presley was born in Tupelo
(Mississippi) on January 8, 1935 and died in Memphis, Tennessee on August 16,
1977.
In 1950, with the help of his friend and
neighbor Jesse Lee Denson, he got the best out of himself with the guitar.
Years later he would record the song "El milagro del Rosario" written
by Denson and recorded on May 15, 1971.
His musical beginnings were not easy, he was
shy and that confused many, who said that he did not have gifts as a singer,
like his music teacher in Memphis, who even failed him, this being the only
subject he failed in his entire student life.
His mother died at the age of 46 of heart
failure, while doing his military service, something that marked him deeply
because he was attached to her.
During his time as a soldier in Germany, he
became involved in the Christian evangelical movement.
The money he earned during his time in the army was donated to charity. During the military

at the White House by President Richard Nixon on December 21, 1970.
After their divorce in 1973, Presley's health
due to neglect was cracking, as well as his physical appearance.
Her
physical appearance deteriorated due to drug use, she barely fit inside her own
clothes and she even had communication problems on stage.
On August 16, 1977, the day he was scheduled to
have a concert, he was found unconscious, doctors were unable to revive him and
an icon of not only American but world music died.

his mother in the Garden of Graceland.

He was born

songs on the album The South's going to Rise Again, with 23 of them written
almost entirely by Lee.
Lee Denson
died in Tennessee on November 6, 2007 at the age of 75, in a plane crash.
SONG THE
MIRACLE OF THE ROSARY:
Lee and Elvis met in 1948, when the Presley
family moved to Memphis, encouraged and directed by Lee, he began to take
guitar lessons more seriously, along with three other friends.
Years later, around 1960, Lee was already married to a Catholic named Mary, very devoted to

in his recordings the Miracle of the Rosary, which he did not do until 1971.
Lee Denson sang that song in 1978 in the
Basilica of Memphis, when Panamanian Bishop Tomás Clavel officiated the mass
and while performing it, the bishop himself declared that the aroma of roses
invaded the entire interior of the temple.
When Paul VI heard this extraordinary fact, he
blessed the song. That Lee Denson would sing both in the Shrine of Fatima and
in the Carmel of Coimbra with the presence of Sister Lucy.
