SANTA BÁRBARA PATRONA DE ARTILLERÍA.
Santa Bárbara fue una joven del siglo III, donde todos los indicios hacen pensar que nació en

Un día su padre, le propuso que debiera
contraer matrimonio, teniendo ya escogido el candidato. Ella le dijo valientemente
que ella no podía casarse, ya que se había consagrado a Cristo. Dioscóreo en un arrebato de furia, la quiso
matar, ella logró escapar de su mano, se llegó a refugiar en una cueva, pero un
agricultor la delató, siendo apresada por su padre.
Después de ser cruelmente
flagelada, fue condenada a morir por decapitación, interviniendo su propio
padre en la ejecución, cuando su cuerpo inerte caía al suelo, un rayo fulminó a
su padre y a quienes la estaban ejecutando.
Santa Bárbara comenzó a ser venerada
