FERROL UN REFERENTE EN EL ALUMBRADO DE NAVIDAD

Muchas veces buscamos fuera, lo que tenemos en casa, un ejemplo es en lo referente al alumbrado, adorno y mercadillo navideño.

Hoy me referiré al de Ferrol, la ciudad volcada al mar por excelencia, aunque tenga el hándicap de una comunicación deficiente, sobre todo en lo referente al tema ferroviario y que la autopista encierre alguna trampa, pues la DGT de los cuatro túneles en la dirección Santiago-Ferrol, todos limitan 90 km/h en el tramo del túnel, menos el tercero,  que lo prorroga más y justo unos cien metros después del túnel, tiene un radar, para pillar incautos, pero poco a poco va cobrando brío y saliendo del letargo en que había estado sumida, en años anteriores.

Había visto en alguna que otra ocasión el alumbrado de Ferrol, pero este año, lo encontré sin duda el más homogéneo, armónico y expandido por toda la ciudad, tal vez su edil Jose Manuel Rey Varela, dedicó su esfuerzo para que la ciudad pudiese ser también un lugar turístico, para ser visitado en otras épocas, al igual que lo es en Semana Santa con las procesiones, más impresionantes de Galicia.

También porque prestó mucha atención en el decorado a lo que realmente se celebra, el Nacimiento del Niño Dios, preparado todo con gusto, pensando en todos los ciudadanos, sean creyentes o no. Ya que en otras ciudades, poca diferencia hay entre el alumbrado del carnaval que en el de Navidad, en sintonía con la ideología política del que las gobierna.

La gente cuando esto ocurre responde y acude a verlo, porque las personas quieren ver cosas distintas y nuevas no las ñoñerías de siempre, o ver que se esmeran en una parte de la ciudad y se olvidan del resto, como si esos no pagasen sus impuestos. Me gustó igualmente el adorno con el que muchos comercios ofrecen su reclamo a los clientes formando un conjunto con toda la ciudad. Algo que muchas ciudades de Europa hacen, pero aquí ya es más raro encontrar, salvo un par de luces y guirnaldas.

Con la música a un tono moderado y sonando los villancicos típicos de esta parte del año.

Ferrol este año, no tiene nada que envidiar a ciudades como Monçao o Dublín, por que tiene sin ser cargante, las mismas y típicas cosas, es por ello y quizás ayudadas por el frío reinante, que  las cafeterías se encontraban abarrotadas de gente, tomando el típico chocolate con churros. Pero también se ve movimiento en los comercios, que contrasta con el vacío de otros lugares gallegos.

Desde el Amboage a la Plaza de Armas, y te metieras por las calles que te metieras, podías contemplar verdaderas obras de arte, unidas a los magníficos belenes artesanales, como el de la Merced o el articulado con figuras en movimiento de la Orden Tercera ambos con el efecto del día y la noche, el sol y las estrellas, con explicación que van narrando al publico asistente, haciendo las delicias de grandes y pequeños.

En algunos lugares también aparecen figuras realistas a tamaño natural, hasta el punto de que los niños pueden montar en alguno de los animales expuestos.

Cuando los belenes se hacen con arte, atraen al publico para contemplarlos, maravillarse de su armonía, la preciosidad de sus figuras, en esto ayuda sin duda los concursos que la ciudad lleva a cabo, con el fin de premiar a los mejores resultados por las dotes de creatividad de su autor o autores.

Debo reconocer que Ferrol este año se ha esmerado como ninguno, las calles se ven más bulliciosas y alegres, un ejemplo, una referencia y merece un olé como la copa de un pino, mejor dicho, un abeto de Navidad.

FERROL A BENCHMARK IN CHRISTMAS LIGHTING

Many times we look outside for what we have at home, an example is in terms of lighting,

decoration and Christmas market.

Today I will refer to Ferrol, the city focused on the sea par excellence, although it has the handicap of poor communication, especially with regard to the railway issue, but which is gradually gaining strength and emerging from the lethargy in which it had been immersed in previous years.

I had seen Ferrol's lighting on occasion or another, but this year, I found it undoubtedly the most homogeneous, harmonious and expanded throughout the city of all, perhaps its mayor Jose Manuel Rey Varela, dedicated his effort so that the city could also be a tourist place, to be visited at other times,  as it is in Holy Week with the processions, the most impressive in Galicia.

Also because he paid a lot of attention in the decoration to what is really celebrated, the Birth of the Child Jesus, prepared with taste, thinking of all citizens, whether they are believers or not. Since in other cities, there is little difference between the lighting of the carnival and that of Christmas, in tune with the political ideology of the one who governs them.

When this happens, people respond and go to see it, because people want to see different and new things, not the usual silly things, or to see that they take great care in one part of the city and forget about the rest, as they did not pay their taxes. I also liked the decoration with which many shops offer their claim to customers forming a set with the whole city. Something that many cities in Europe do, but here it is rarer to find, except for a couple of lights and garlands.

With the music at a moderate tone and playing the typical Christmas carols of this part of the year.

Ferrol this year, has nothing to invite cities like Monçao or Dublin, because it has without being burdensome, the same and typical things, perhaps helped by the prevailing cold, the cafes were crowded with people, drinking the typical chocolate with churros.

From the Amboage to the Plaza de Armas, and no matter how many streets you entered, you could contemplate true works of art, together with the magnificent handmade nativity scenes, such as the one of La Merced or the articulated one with moving figures of the Third Order, both with the effect of day and night, the sun and the stars.  with explanations that they narrate to the audience, delighting young and old alike.

In some places there are also life-size realistic figures, to the point that children can ride on one of the animals on display.

When nativity scenes are made with art, they attract the public to contemplate them, marvel at their harmony, the preciousness of their figures, in this the contests that the city carries out undoubtedly help, in order to reward the best results for the creative skills of their author or authors.

I must admit that Ferrol this year has taken care like no other, the streets look more bustling and cheerful, an example, a reference and deserves an olé like the top of a pine tree, or rather, a Christmas fir.
