EL MOSAD ISRAELI
El Mosad fue creado el 13 de
diciembre de 1949, una vez que el país obtuvo la independencia, siendo Reuven
Shiloa su primer director, cargo que ocupó hasta el año 1952, siendo Primer Ministro
David Ben Gurión, que fue quien tuvo la iniciativa de la creación de este Instituto
de Inteligencia, con el fin de realizar una conexión y coordinación con todos
los Servicios de Seguridad, pero dependiendo directamente de su persona como
Primer Ministro y no del Gobierno (Knesset) o de los Ministerios (Interior, Defensa o
Exteriores) cosa que le ocurre a las otras agencias.
Quizás por ello su actual director
David Barmea, que accedió al cargo en el año 2021, continué al frente del
Instituto de Inteligencia, a pesar de la Operación llevada a cabo el 7 de
octubre de 2023, cuando la Yihad Islámica y Hamas, llevaron a cabo una masacre
que ocasionó más de mil doscientos israelíes muertos y unos doscientos
secuestrados. Ya que era el Shabak quien debería haber tenido información de la
preparación del ataque.
El personal que lo integra (hombres
y mujeres) al igual que en otros servicios de inteligencia, actúa con ausencia
de rangos militares, aunque muchos de los agentes que sirven en él, hayan
ocupado distintos puestos y empleos dentro del ejército. Con lo que de ese modo
se garantiza la desvinculación con el Ministerio de Defensa y siga únicamente
las directrices determinadas por el Primer Ministro.
Su misión principal es la
recopilación de información, que pueda anticipar una acción hostil contra el
Estado de Israel. Los componentes de los
distintos equipos operativos reciben el nombre de Katsas. Manteniendo una
cooperación con los servicios de inteligencia de otros paises aliados,
especialmente con los de los Estados Unidos.
Hay grupos que colaboran dando
cobertura a los Katsas, bien pasándoles información o apoyo logístico, reciben
el nombre de Sayanim. Un ejemplo es Sulamit Cohen, recientemente condecorada en
Israel. Un ama de casa que dirigía una operación del Mosad desde su cocina de
Beirut donde transmitía en secreto información crítica a Israel, además de proporcionar
a refugiados judíos un lugar seguro, durante una década.
En muchos casos, la misión del
Mosad se centra en la localización, seguimiento y detención o secuestro de
aquellos que, por una causa u otra, tienen vinculación con actos delictivos que
afectan a personas o intereses de Israel, como fue por ejemplo la localización
y eliminación del comando palestino, que atacó a los atletas de Israel en la
Villa de los Atletas, durante los Juegos Olímpicos de Múnich en 1972.
A parte de los asuntos que, de
una manera u otra, puedan afectar a Israel y sean motivo de investigación por
tanto, hay otros asuntos que, no interfiriendo para nada en la seguridad, si
sirven para negociar con determinados paises. Así el Mosad colaboró con el MI6
Británico en la investigación del accidente en el que perdió la vida la
princesa Diana de Gales (Lady Di). También hizo estudios y averiguaciones sobre
los distintos atentados que el papa Juan Pablo II tuvo a lo largo de su vida
pontifical.
Por esta y otras muchas
operaciones el Mosad es uno de los Servicios de Inteligencia más valorados y
temidos del mundo.

THE ISRAELI MOSSAD
The Mossad (Israel Intelligence Institute) is
the intelligence agency prepared to act outside the country, in matters of
counterespionage and terrorism, since the responsibility at home lies with the

In many cases, the mission of the Mossad
focuses on locating, tracking and arresting or kidnapping those who, for one
reason or another, have links to criminal acts that affect persons or interests
of Israel, such as the location and elimination of the Palestinian commando,
which attacked Israeli athletes in the Athletes' Village. during the 1972 Munich Olympics.
Apart from the matters that, in one way or
another, may affect Israel and are the subject of investigation, therefore,
there are other matters that, while not interfering in security at all, do
serve to negotiate with certain countries. Thus, the Mossad collaborated with

as he had the opportunity. Leading an operational team of Katsas, he managed to
discover, surprise and kidnap Adolf Eichmann, a Nazi who followed Adolf
Hitler's directives to the letter, ordering the execution of hundreds of Jews.
In 1957 he had the information that Eichmann was hiding in Argentina, under the
false identity of Ricardo Klement, On May 21, 1960 Eitan and his team kidnapped
him and transferred the German to Israel, in a Mossad plane, where after being
tried he was sentenced to death and the sentence was served on May 31, 1962.
For this and many other operations, the Mossad
is one of the most valued and feared Intelligence Services in the world.
